Grand Bahama International Airport (FPO): Approximate driving time is 15 minutes and distance is 8 miles. Driving directions from Grand Bahama International Airport: Heading out of the airport, turn left and continue to the Welcome Circle. Travel south on The Mall Dr to the Ranfurly Circle. Head east on E Sunrise Hwy to the Lucayan Circle. Continue on Sea Horse Lane and turn left onto Bell Channel Bay Rd into Port Lucaya. Hotel is on the left. Getting there: Taxis are the best way since there is no shuttle service. Fare is $16–$25 USD for 2 passengers, and $3 USD for each additional person. Rental cars and limousines are more than $36 USD. Fees subject to change without notice. Rental cars are available online. Getting around: This location in the midst of shopping, dining, entertainment, and beach areas makes walking the best option. To get downtown or to the International Bazaar, buses stop on Bell Channel Bay Rd. Fares are less than $5 USD. Many people zip around on scooters (more than $36 USD a day rental) or bicycles ($5–$15 USD a day rental.) Fees subject to change without notice. Taxis are convenient and preferable to driving a rental car for those unaccustomed to the British style of driving on the left or to roundabouts. A free government-owned ferry travels daily between Sweeting’s Cay and McLean’s Town. Island-hopping is possible through the mailboats which run weekly from Freeport Harbour to Nassau although they operate on “Bahamas time,” so passage may be slow and space shared with chickens, produce, and cargo. Fares to Nassau are more than $36 USD return. Fees subject to change without notice.
